FAQS
This really depends on the area you are waxing. However, here is a good rule of thumb:
Small areas (face, underarms): ¼ cup (about 60–80g)
Medium areas (bikini, arms): ½ cup (about 100–150g)
Large areas (legs, back): 1 cup or more (180–250g)
Always melt enough wax to create a thick, honey-like layer on top — too little wax can
cool too fast or pull unevenly. If you have left over wax and don’t want to waste it, you
can simply pop the wax out of your neuBuff silicone wax heater and store for a later
session in a clean, airtight bag.
neuBuff wax should be heated until it reaches a thick, honey-like consistency —
warm, but never runny or watery. Always test the wax on your inner wrist before
applying — it should feel warm, not hot or burning. The neuBuff silicone heater is
made for perfect at-home waxing, so just plug it in, wait about 15–20 minutes, and
you’re ready to go. Unsure if your wax looks like it is the right temp? Click here to watch a how-to video.
Don’t worry — if the wax isn’t coming off easily, it’s usually a quick fix! There are a few ways you can handle this. If the wax is too soft or stretchy, let it cool a tad longer before trying to remove it. It should feel firm, but flexible. If the wax has been applied too thinly (or without a pulling “lip” at the end) simply apply more wax over top of it and let sit before attempting to remove again. Here is a quick instructional video on what to do if you applied your wax too thinly. Click here to watch a how-to video.
Yes! neuBuff’s coconutbased hard wax beads are proven gentle on sensitive skin,
minimizing redness and irritation while effectively removing hair. With added pre and
postwax sprays, it’s a soothing, salonquality experience you can do at home.
Mild redness or irritation is normal, especially after your first few waxes — but it should go away within a few hours. Here’s a guide to check out with tips on how to treat any irritation: DOWNLOAD GUIDE
If the wax isn’t grabbing all your hair, don’t worry — it’s usually an easy fix! A few of the most commons reasons are too much pre-waxing oil (simply wipe away excess), hairs are not quite long enough, not pressing firmly enough with the application or the wax temperature wasn’t correct. These are all problems and have easy fixes! Here are some more suggestions on how to troubleshoot: DOWNLOAD GUIDE
For the best results, your hair should be about ¼ inch (6 mm) long — roughly the length of a grain of rice. If you’re unsure, wait 2–3 weeks after shaving or 4–5 weeks after your last wax to hit the perfect length.
Yes, but with care. You can reapply wax to the same area if needed — just make sure
your skin isn’t already irritated. However, it is important to re-apply the pre-waxing spray in between applications to ensure a barrier of protection on the skin.
Post-wax care is key to smooth, happy skin and avoiding irritation. It is also important to ensure the results (silky smooth skin!) last as long as possible. Always make sure you are moisturising and exfoliating between waxing treatments. Immediately after the wax, try and avoid hot steam rooms, excessively sweating and sun exposure for 24-28 hours. For ongoing care, exfoliate 2-3 times a week with a gentle exfoliator.
